This page provides information on the Australian Government’s Energy Bill Relief Fund extension. You may be eligible for other rebates and concessions.
2025-26 Energy Bill Relief
Under the Australian Government’s Energy Bill Relief Fund extension, eligible Queensland households and small business may receive up to $150 in rebates on their electricity bills for the period from 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2025.
The rebate will automatically be credited to electricity accounts in 2 quarterly instalments of $75. For more information and to check your eligibility, refer to:
2024-25 Rebates
The Queensland Government delivered the below Cost of Living Rebate in the 2024-25 financial year.
- $1000 for all eligible Queensland households. This was automatically credited to accounts in a lump sum.
The Australian Government delivered the below Energy Bill Relief Fund rebate in the 2024-25 financial year.
- $300 for eligible households and $325 for eligible small businesses. This was automatically credited to accounts in quarterly instalments.
If you didn’t receive your rebates, speak to your electricity provider in the first instance. If you have a dispute about the rebate and are unable to resolve it with your provider, you can contact us.
2023-24 Rebate
The Queensland Government delivered the below Cost of Living Rebate in the 2023-24 financial year.
- $700 for vulnerable households who receive the existing Queensland Electricity Rebate.
The Cost of Living Rebate is in addition to the $372 Queensland Electricity Rebate, bringing the total rebate on electricity bills for vulnerable households to $1,072. You can visit the Queensland Government website’s page on the Queensland Electricity Rebate Scheme to find out if you’re eligible.
- $550 for all other Queensland households.
For most households, the rebate was automatically credited to electricity bills on a quarterly basis commencing from July 2023. If you didn’t receive your rebate, speak to your electricity provider in the first instance. If you have a dispute about the rebate and are unable to resolve it with your provider, you can contact us.

If you think you will have trouble paying your electricity bill, contact your electricity provider. You might be able to:
- ask for a payment plan
- find out if you’re eligible for any rebates or concessions on top of the Cost of Living Rebate, such as the Home Energy Emergency Assistance Scheme (HEEAS)
- get access to a financial hardship program
- get information about financial counselling
- ask for an audit to see where you can save money on electricity.
