To be successful in this role you will:

  • Work closely with the Manager - Finance to develop EWOQ's annual budget, guidelines and associated funding models
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of frameworks, systems and processes to support effective financial governance, including reviewing and maintaining EWOQ's financial management practice manual (FMPM)
  • Perform a range of financial tasks including:
  • Preparation of accruals and other journals including general ledger review and corrections as required
  • Contribute to the preparation and finalisation of the annual financial statement process
  • Assist in preparation of budget forecasts and monitoring financial performance including cost centre and budget variance analysis
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial processing across a range of transactions including preparing revenue invoices and adjustment notes, and processing invoices for payment
  • Ensure debtor lifecycle is undertaken in accordance with pricing models, guidelines and relevant legislation
  • Provide financial analysis and support for preparation of business cases and provide analysis and recommendations to improve financial outcomes
  • Provide support and advice to internal stakeholders on procurement processes to ensure compliance with State Procurement Policy and EWOQ procedures.
  • Manage the recording and reporting of assets including coordinating the annual stocktake
  • Monitor financial and performance obligations of contracts with external providers including lease arrangements across EWOQ's three locations
  • Participate in the development and review of the internal audit strategic plan and act as a liaison for internal and external auditors
  • Contribute to the development of business planning risk assessments and identification and mitigation of risks and issues
  • Help foster a productive and positive workplace culture through behaviour and concrete actions and demonstrate the values and priorities of EWOQ in everyday work
