Submitting a job application

You need to lodge your application online through the SmartJobs website.

By applying online, you can track your applications, update personal details and withdraw applications if necessary.

We don’t accept:

  • hand-delivered applications
  • applications from recruitment agencies.

How to apply online

Go to the page with the role you’re applying for and click the ‘Apply online’ button at the bottom.

You are then prompted to log into your account.

If this is the first time you’ve lodged an application through SmartJobs, you need to create a ‘My SmartJob’ account first. Click the ‘Register’ button to quickly create a free account.

Then follow the instructions to upload your documents and provide the required information.

Time frames

You must submit your application by the closing date and time listed on the advertisement and position description.

SmartJobs doesn’t accept late submissions, so give yourself enough time to submit before the closing date and time.

Selection panel members may consider late applications in specific circumstances. Contact the contact person listed on your position description to discuss.

If they give you approval to submit a late application, contact Corporate Administration Agency (CAA) Recruitment Services on (07) 3003 2341 or (07) 3003 2336 (9am–5pm, Monday–Friday) to arrange submission.

Issues and queries

If you have technical difficulty when accessing SmartJobs, call 13QGOV (13 74 68).

If you’re unable to apply online, contact CAA to make alternative arrangements.

If you have queries about the role before or during the recruitment and selection process, or about your application once the job has closed, contact your contact person.

Withdrawing an application

You can withdraw your online application before the closing date via the ‘My applications’ page of ‘My SmartJob’.

If you do this, you can’t resubmit an application for the same role online.

If you wish to reapply for the role, contact CAA or your contact person to arrange to resubmit your application.

How we treat applications

We treat all applications in confidence.

Your application remains current for 12 months and we may consider you for other vacancies if relevant.
