‘Tis the season to be jolly…
And on the eighth day of Christmas Forbes Smith, Energy and Water Ombudsman Queensland delivered gifts donated by staff to the 2011 Smith Family Toy and Book Appeal.
The initiative was part of EWOQ’s commitment to contributing to the Queensland community and the Toy and Book Appeal offered a wonderful opportunity.
Forbes encouraged staff to donate toys and books to the 2011 Smith Family Appeal and donate they did, in abundance!
“I’d like to thank the staff for opening up their hearts and donating toys and books to the appeal,” said Forbes.
“Their generosity will be appreciated by many disadvantaged girls and boys in the community.
“The staff room was decked out with a Christmas tree and staff arrived each day with toys and books to place around the tree; it looked like Santa’s workshop.
“Big Ted was a favourite with staff, but we’re happy to see him go to a home where he will get many hugs.
“It’s a rewarding feeling giving to children and families who are suffering hardship; everyone should feel joy at Christmas.”
The Smith Family is a national, independent children's charity helping disadvantaged Australians to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.
